Consumer Critiques
Ok, so I gave this monitor four stars rather than five mainly because it does have some annoying flaws. I have researched so numerous monitors for many cameras and this 1 seemed the finest. I had the Summer Infant Most effective View, which was Wonderful I sold it to a buddy to assist spend for this one, and I was kind of sad for the reason that I wasn't positive how this one would evaluate. It seems, like most of the evaluations, as lengthy as you do not get a "lemon", it functions excellent.
I bought mine from BabiesRus.com and ordered the added camera too (they have it in stock appropriate now, and Amazon does not.) Fundamentally, the initially a single I attempted, the monitor was blank and showed nothing. But if I hooked it up to my Television, I could see the child sleeping, so I knew it wasn't the camera. I brought that a single back and got a different a single. This 1 functions! The video high quality is not as great as the Most beneficial View, but is good enough. I have listed the PROS and CONS below
PROS
-Normal amount of interference with Wi-Fi. You will have this issue with most video monitors.
-No static...incredibly clear sound, and we are 2300 feet from my daughter's space.
-The battery on the monitor appears to be fairly excellent, lasts all day and I charge it every single night, even although it is not completely drained.
-The battery pack for the camera is a neat function, but I haven't hooked it up. Preserve in mind that if you obtain an further camera, the battery pack is not included.
-The volume is honestly awesome and there are no challenges with hearing the infant rustling around on the sheets, which is nice.
-Scanning feature! This feature is what I have been looking for. When you put it on "scan," it scans amongst the cameras you have set up. When the video is on, you see and hear what is becoming monitored (1st camera, then 2nd...and back to 1st once again.) When you are sleeping, and the video is off, the sound is nevertheless scanning between rooms. On other monitors, the sound would cease on the area you had the camera on final. What's the point in that? Also, some have no sound and only video scanning. Like any person is just going to stay awake all night and stare at the video monitor to see if there are any matters with the babies. This 1 does the trick, though, with both video and audio scanning.
-The monitor is really sensitive to touch and uncomplicated to use.
-Camera is easy to swivel around to your preference...from the comfort of your bedroom, or wherever...even though, I fairly considerably just maintain it exactly where it is. :)
-I love the intercom feature since typically I just speak to my daughter just for fun...when she is awake and I am about to go get her. She looks at the camera and says, "mama" I like it
-There is a really nice "leg" on the monitor that is very easy to open and close so you can stand it up, if you pick. (The dock props it up, as properly, which tends to make rapid "glances" at the monitor hassle-free. If you opt for not to use the dock, the plug goes appropriate into the monitor if you don't get pleasure from the dock. (I discuss this below in the Con section.))
CONS
-It appears that there are a lot of "lemons" out there, so if yours has problems, bring it back and get a different a single suitable away.
-The dock is truly light and is magnetic, so when I attempt to pick it up off the dock with a single hand, it normally picks up the dock and drops it on the floor. Annoying, but not a deal-breaker.
-The "talk" button is proper by the power button and considering the fact that you have to hold the energy button to turn the monitor off and hold the speak button to talk to the youngster, some people have reported accidentally holding the talk button and waking the kid. This has not happened to me. It would be smart for Summer Infant to make a minor adjust in that region.
-Video quality can undoubtedly be enhanced. The night vision is much better than the color, but actually, it is usually dark when I am monitoring her, so this is not a trouble. And, again, not a deal-breaker for me.
CONCLUSION
Essentially, it boils down to how lots of rooms/kids you are monitoring. The scanning function is just too significant and outweighs all of the cons, in my opinion Please ask questions, if you have them. I had millions and just went for it
For the past year, we've owned the Summer Infant Night Day Video Monitor and the video top quality is ideal (crystal clear). A couple of months ago, the volume did not work at specific levels and the sound began to have much more static, producing it distracting through sleep for me.
We began seeking at the digital monitors (as I've heard they will by no means get the "static" sound). We went for the Summer Infant BabyTouch. From the start out we were in adore with the sleek appear and all of the characteristics. Every little thing works fantastic...except the video good quality. If this is your initially video monitor, you will probably like this (you won't have something to compare it to). If you have had good video good quality before and are switching to this video monitor, it will be noticeable for you.
The video is grainy and the movement is somewhat choppy (feel gas station video footage). You can nonetheless make out where the child is and what's going on, but it really is just not crystal clear like the picture on the box shows. I did call client service at Summer Infant and was really impressed with their help. They produced some suggestions and were quite friendly and useful, but their suggestions did not aid at all.
The capabilities of this monitor outweigh the poor video good quality, so we have decided to keep this monitor (we even exchanged it at our nearby shop to see if there was a difference in them...there wasn't).
Pros -
- Quick to navigate around (sound, pan, zoom, etc...)
- Excellent sound
- Outstanding pan
- Talk feature
- Docking station (fast to put on and it really is charging versus having to discover the cord to plug in and charge)
- Touch screen
Cons -
- Lame zoom (but all video monitors have this zoom - jumps straight to a closer view)
- The "speak" button is located subsequent to the on and off button. You have to hold the on/off button for four seconds and the "speak" button has to be held down (like a Walkie Talkie) to be heard. I've accidentally held down the "talk" button when I believed I was turning on/off the monitor and was talking (waking my son up). It is not the end of the planet, but just a suggestion to the enterprise to switch the place of this button (it really is the same size as the on/off button too).
- The video top quality is a significant disappointment
